Every month, we give a shout-out to a partner who uses Evvnt’s technology to shape the heartbeat of their community. This month, we’re giving a big cheers to our partner BonTempsTix from Country Roads Magazine.
Country Roads has been around since 1983 and is a cultural reporting publication focusing on South Louisiana, the Mississippi Delta, and the Gulf Coast. They began BonTempsTix almost eight years ago and it has quickly bloomed into a powerhouse, hosting some of the biggest local events in South Louisiana.
We spoke with Publisher and Co-Owner, James Fox-Smith, to share more of the BonTempsTix story. He wanted to shout out his incredibly talented team, Molly McNeal, Operations Coordinator and Ticketing Specialist, and Kourtney Zimmerman, Art Director and Ticketing Specialist.
When asked about his favorite aspect of the Evvnt Ticketing platform, Fox-Smith highlighted its quick, responsive support team, noting the value of real human assistance, dedicated help for complex events, and an ever-evolving set of features.
BonTempsTix is proud to support Louisiana’s historic legacy by providing ticketing for the Angola Prison Rodeo, the LSU Rural Life Museum, and community gems like Bay St. Louis Little Theater and Playmakers Theater of Covington.
The Angola Prison Rodeo sells out an impressive 10,000-seat arena six times a year. This event has hugely expanded the Country Roads Magazine’s reach, scale, and addressable audience.
Other popular events include the Natchez Balloon Festival and the St Francisville Food & Wine Festival. That balloon festival sounds like it could make the Wizard of Oz jealous.

- Start with the event organizations with whom you have existing relationships.
- Educate them to the value of free local publicity.
- Make sure they know that by choosing the EVVNT platform over Eventbrite or similar, they’re helping support and sustain local media and the cultural economy.
