Events tech entrepreneurs showcase ideas at London Technology Week
The Event Tech Challenge took place at the Rainmaking Loft in east London last night (19 June), giving event tech designers and marketers a platform to showcase their inventions to investors and event organisers.

The evening was organised by event tech company Pickevent, which provides a LinkedIn-style platform for attendees at events, as part of London Technology Week.
After an hour of networking over drinks, 21 companies took to the stage to present their ideas to the audience and panel of judges for two minutes.
The panel consisted of Jane Hague, president of the international events society, Michael Oakes, head of programmes EMEA at The Economist, and Adam Parry, director of Event Industry News. The winner of the challenge was radio-frequency ID company Glownet.
Event listings marketers Evvnt was awarded second place, while ticket pricing company Tixboo came in third. Honourable mentions went to conference video platform Catch Talk TV, mobile event app producer Double Dutch and event analytics company Forge Special Projects.
The night ended with a casual dinner of pizza and a screening of the England versus Uruguay game.
Jose Bort, CEO of Pickevent, told Event: “We are so pleased that we could join in one place well-established event technologies such as Cvent, Etouches and Double Dutch and cool upcoming technologies from startups like Glownet, Tixboo, Catch Talk TV, all connected under the Pickevent events community”
Pickevent revealed at the event that it plans to host weekly events for the industry until the end of the year.
