The past few weeks we’ve been working hard to build some fairly large changes in to the evvnt app.
“One of the primary goals for us at the moment is to let our users to manage their own event marketing from inside their account. To this end we now sees users authorising their own accounts, picking their own passwords, upgrading their packages and posting packages via our API entirely self-served .” Philip Lardi, Product Manager.
1. Activation
From this release, when a user account is created users will be required to activate their Accounts. This allows users to provide more account details, pick a new password and activation their account.
How does this work?
a) Email
Accounts created have an activation email sent to them.
These links are active for 24 hours. If clicking the link within 24 hours, the user is asked for a few more details before they can access their account.
If the link is clicked after 24 hours, the user will be told they need to resend their confirmation link. Doing so starts the process again.
2. Self-Serve
Another big stride in user controlled packages, we’re now offering customer self-service from inside the app! The self-serve links can be found in 4 places.
a) Locations
– There’s an ‘Upgrade’ button on the navigation bar.
– There’s also a ‘Add a package’ button on the user packages page.
– We’ll also present another ‘Add a package’ in the news section.
– At the end of event submission if a user has 0 events remaining we’ll also provide a link to add additional packages.
b) Checkout
To checkout, users only have to navigate three steps;
Step 1 – Users pick their event type
Step 2 – Users pick their package
We’re currently offering 3 packages, in both bundles and subscription types. Users can toggle to pay in their local currency.
Step 3 – Payment
A simple payment page takes our users through the final steps – reviewing the order, adding a card and processing the order.
Step 3 – Complete!
Once this is done, it’s time to submit some events!
3. URLs a required field
URLs are now a require field in the form, API and CSV. Almost all of our users provided us with URLs previously, to use our click tracking, but we’re now making it mandatory to provide us with one.
