As much as some people may hate the whole idea of Valentine’s Day, it’s still a major date in the events calendar. No matter whether people are single or in a relationship, everyone wants to be doing something on Valentine’s Day.
With that in mind, here are Evvnt’s top 5 tips for promoting Valentine’s Day events:
1) Men are from Mars…
Valentine’s Day is the perfect time of year to segment your email list by gender. Men and women may be interested in different types of events to enjoy with their loved ones and may be attracted to different special offers.
2) Timing is Everything
Most Valentine’s Day emails are sent between the 6th and 12th of February. Your event may stand out better if your email is sent before peak time.
3) Make It Easy
Try to make sure that your subject lines and content provide a solution, for example; “Stuck For Things to Do on Valentine’s Day? Top 10 Romantic Events in London”.
4) Get Talking
Most listing & events websites will have pages set up to promote major holidays or occasions like Valentine’s Day, or even an email newsletter of their own. It’s worth getting in touch with the people who run these sections to ask if your event will appear there too.
5) Get Social
Use Facebook to share Valentine’s Day flyers. You can target different updates to your Facebook fans depending on age, gender or location to target different types of people with different types of events or special offers.
